They say time heals all wounds. Time also finds the same knife and cuts open the fresh scar.
Tell me why in a crowded room I still find you . . .
You gave chase. I let you run. As I started to slow my pace, you retreated. Leaving me to fall on the cold concrete.
Her lips were stained with coffee; her kiss so bittersweet.
To the girl who loves him next,
You've got a keeper. You really do. Coming from me that may sound sarcastic but it isn't in the least bit. You've met a boy who is will put you on the highest pedestal and make you feel as if you couldn't be loved more. He'll surprise you with midnight text messages expressing his most precious feelings. He'll tell you: "You're the greatest thing that's ever happened to me babe. How'd I get so lucky?" And you'll argue about how you're the lucky one and eventually settle and agree that both of you were lucky to have found each other. The night I met him was unlike any other. In fact it resembled something so much like from a movie that it was hard to believe that even happened. I couldn't believe someone like him had just landed in my lap. Sparks flew and I may have broken a rule or two to get to keep talking to him. I carved our initials into the place we met hoping a year later it would still mean to me what it meant that day. After days, weeks, and months I finally found what people had described as love. It was always something I thought I knew but didn't truly until I met him. Hopefully your meeting was just as spectacular. I hope he gives you butterflies and makes your heart beat a little faster. I guarantee he'll make your mouth hurt from smiling so damn much. He's not the brightest crayon in the 24 pack but he sure does have a way with words. And every word he says feels like he means it. Nothing he ever tells you will ever be halfhearted. He's not the type. He's the kind of guy who will fall for you and fall hard so fall with him will you? Because if he goes crashing down, it's gonna hurt.. even more so now. Please don't let it happen. You should know a few things if you're gonna be a part of his life now. 1. He loves fried Oreos and if he's sweet on you, he'll make you some. 2. The man is the poster boy of that Luke Bryan song Huntin, Fishin', and Lovin' Everyday. Don't ever be the girl to make him lose sight of that. It's what makes him so special. 3. He loves his dogs. He might even cuddle with them over you sometimes but hey a dog is a mans best friend. 4. If he serenades you in the car, he means all the lyrics he's singing to you. Don't be afraid to sing along with him. 5. He's gonna tease you about your shiny forehead and your driving skills but it's all the more endearing when he hugs you after he's pushed a little too far and says "I love you babe". 6. He'll get to know you like the back of your hand. He'll know when you're pissy and on your period and when you've had something to drink. 7. Be his number one supporter. Watch him wrestle, cheer him on. I never got the chance but I sure wish I could've. 8. He's a cuddle bug but he sweats in his sleep so beware. 9. He'll ride a roller coaster 3x by himself just to see you at work. 10. Surprise him with pistachios or Swedish fish, they're his favorite. 11. If you're not gonna finish your food, your boy is a human trash can. He's a great guy. I let him go once and I'm always paying the price. He's the type of guy that you'll always think about even in the years to come. So I promise you, you'll wanna keep this one. Sincerely, The girl who let him go I might forget your grandma's first name or the date we started talking, but I promise you I'll remember all the small details. I'll remember the place you first kissed me and the time you told me you were afraid of spiders. I'll remember how you like your eggs and the reason you sleep on the couch most nights. But now I'll wonder if you went to McDonald's in town or the one 45 minutes away. I'll wonder if you think of me like I think of you or if the feelings you told me about while drinking the cider was the truth or just a drunken slur.
I have to resist the overwhelming urge
To see your face, To hear your voice, To feel your touch. You're my cocaine. I can never get enough. Your voice is a siren ringing through the hallways
but only I am drawn to your screams. |
